Are these products safe for dyed or chemically treated hair?
Yes! Our products are safe to use on color-treated hair.

Is earth free from Formaldehyde?
Yes we are!
Is this product all-natural?
Most of the ingredients in our products are naturally derived. The line was built on safe synthetics and those ingredients that are not natural are 90% biodegradable and were up-cycled to be used again.
Are earth formulas biodegradable?
Yes! earth formulas are highly biodegradable.
Are earth formulas vegan?
No, earth products contain Vitamin B that is sourced from both plant and animal bi-products.
What is clean beauty?
Clean beauty means products formulated without: propyl-parabens, butyl-parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, formaldehyde-donors, nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs), oxybenzone, SLES, retinyl palmitate, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarbon, and BHA & BHT. It also means cruelty-free.
Are earth products safe for sensitive skin?
Yes! Our products adhere to IFRA consumer product guidelines and are same for those with skin sensitivities.
What are your bottles made out of?
Our bottles are made out of 100% HDPE plastic, the easiest and most common plastic to recycle and repurpose. We are taking steps to finding more sustainable solutions in packaging. Our DMs are always open if you have any suggestions on how to help us find more sustainable solutions.
Can I recycle my bottle and cap?
Yes! The bottle label is easily removable, white HDPE shampoo/conditioner bottles, and caps can be recycled as mono-material PP. Thank you for recycling!
Plastic bottle? I thought you were sustainable?
We appreciate your concern and love for the planet. In an effort to be easily accessible to all consumers, our bottles are currently 100% HDPE white plastic, the easiest plastic to recycle and repurpose. We encourage you to check with local recycling guidelines to see if you may need to remove the label before recycling. We know we are not perfect but we are taking steps to find more sustainable solutions in packaging. Will you make a product without a plastic bottle?

What do you use in the ingredient labeled fragrance?
The ingredient labeled “fragrance” is made with essential oils, 90% biodegradable up-cycled natural ingredients, and is always cruelty-free.
Aren’t fragrances bad for people who are looking to clean up their products or have skin sensitivities?
Our fragrances are extremely clean and not harmful to those with skin sensitives as we follow IFRA consumer product guidelines.
How can you claim you are a “clean” product if your ingredient list contains “fragrance”?
Thank you for your concern. Our fragrances are made from 90% biodegradable up-cycled natural ingredients and are considered very clean.
How do I get the shampoo to lather/ Why doesn’t this shampoo lather?
Great question! Clean beauty products have a different feel than normal shampoos and conditioners because they are free of silicone and sulfate. To make the shampoo lather more, instead of applying more product, try applying more water to help activate the shampoo and then massage it into the scalp. You might have to shampoo twice, you’ll find the second shampoo lathers up more easily. Hope this helps, DM us if you have any more questions about how to use clean shampoo!
Why is this shampoo so thin and feels weird? It’s hard to get through my hair and I lose hair when I’m using it. How do I use this shampoo?
Thank you for trying earth and reaching out with your experience! Clean beauty products have a different feel than normal shampoos and conditioners because they are free of silicone and sulfate. Sulfate-free products are not like using regular shampoo, they do not have a foaming agent. Make sure your hair is very wet and dab the shampoo from your hand all the way through your hair. Massage into the scalp for a minute or so. Though it may sound counterintuitive, you may need to use less product but more water to move the product through your hair more easily on the first wash. If you have thick or coarse hair you should shampoo it twice. When you use the conditioner, leave it in longer than normal and if you have naturally oily hair only apply it to the ends of the hair.
